I’ve never cared much for dainty jewelry so when it comes to rings I like them big, bold, bedazzled, brilliant...and did I say big? Anyway, you get the point. Read on for a sampling of my favorite places to find fab rings.
A few of my most cherished rings were handed down from my now deceased grandmother. She was a classy lady, always styled in a perfectly matching outfit and never leaving the house without her Palm Beach Pink lipstick in place. She also had a predilection for flashy jewelry, especially rings. My grandmother suffered from severe osteoarthritis at an early age which caused her middle finger joints to enlarge. This is why, other than simply for style reasons, I imagine that she preferred bold rings for the optical illusion that is created when one wears them; they make non-skinny fingers or large knuckles seem smaller in comparison. I am so grateful to possess some of her rings now and sport them in a fashion that would make her proud. Ask your grandmother, mother or aunt to go through her jewelry box, you might find a hidden treasure that she is thrilled for you to put to good use! Also check out second-hand stores for estate and costume jewelry.

(Swarovski ring credits are listed in order of appearance starting with ring at start of post: Chic Mocca Ring $270, Helios Desert Glow Ring $140, Marie Crystal Wal Ring $150, and May Ring $240. All are available at http://www.swarovski.com/.)
Also, check out stores like H&M, Forever 21, Old Navy and Banana Republic for fun, moderate-to-low priced pieces to create your own bohemian, baubled vibe.
Furthermore, I adore buying rings while traveling. They make wonderful keepsakes to remember a special trip and the best part is that they take up no room in your luggage! I recently picked up two great ones in Puerto Rico for less than $10 each. I’ll be traveling to Spain soon and cannot wait to expand my collection.
Happy hunting!
Cheers, Rebecca
