One Language

Among all the things I acquire (and there are many), canvas bags always seem to have a special spot in my collection.  And by "special," I mean I have more totes than I know what to do with.  I buy them without any specific purpose in mind; "I'll use it one day" or "that will be great for the gym" usually dominate my decision-making on the matter.  But when I get them home and out of the glaring, usually flattering lights of whichever store I've purchased the latest from, they no longer captivate my attention and I swiftly become disenchanted.

Enter: One Language.  Design duo and sisters Anais and Lillian Yim, both of whom have impressive experience with fashion's heavyweights (Hermès et Lanvin, mes amis), set out to create a line of canvas bags that fused two of the most important things in any New York gal's life: function and style.

"Another canvas bag? ...... Yes and no."

Tired of seeing boring, drab totes being used to cart home the groceries or, as I am wont to do, the gym gear, the Yim sisters created a cohort of beautifully designed and crafted bags that are both sophisticated and worthy of wear every day of the week (not just on laundry or shopping day).

They draw inspiration from every day life (you can catch a glimpse of this over at their blog) and pull designs straight from their own sketchbooks, leaving us with no doubt that these gorgeous works of art are "a personal and direct reflection of [their] carefree attitude and modern spirit, mixed with serious style."

Kudos to the Yim sisters who have brought a much needed update to the world of canvas totes!
