During our interview with Rebeka, she revealed that her earliest childhood ambitions were to dance and act, but the desire to model came later. Her first exposure to the world of modeling came from flipping through her mother's fashion magazines as an adolescent. At about age 16, she began contemplating a modeling career for herself. Regarding her personal style, she tells us, "I believe clothes can help change the perception one has for themselves, hopefully in a positive way." She goes on to explain that it is important for her to be "comfortable in her clothes" as well as "in her own skin."
FO: If you could not model/act/dance, what would your dream job be 10 years from now?
RB: "I would become a lawyer, I like to fight for causes that I believe in - otherwise, perhaps some type of healer or psychic in order to help others"
FO: What is your favorite thing about living in New York City?
RB: "There is so much energy to get inspiration from...NY is a very spontaneous city...it's unpredictable, and an exciting city to live in for people who want to learn and discover"
FO: What was your most recent purchase, clothing or otherwise?
RB: "I have been craving jeans and found a grey pair by Dolce & Gabbana and a black pair with gold shimmer by Y3. Also, I feel really good in men's suits with over-sized shoulders at the moment, so I got a suit from D&G. I love that the pants are really long which is not easy to find for me!"
FO: What is the best fashion advice that your mother has given you?
RB: "Mom always said she wore beautiful underwear just in case she was in a car accident and had to be rushed to the hospital. This stayed with me and I think about it when I get dressed!"
Here are some of our favorite shots of Rebeka - she was photographed in the West Village. Rebeka styled herself with outfits from her wardrobe which showcase her personal style.
