App World

I was definitely a late adopter where the iPhone is concerned.  I was a die-hard, defend-till-the-end BlackBerry user, until I bought the Torch model and it completely disappointed.  I think I had too high hopes for the touch screen.  Plus, it didn't have Instagram (a necessity).  Thankfully, a few months ago, I inherited the beau's old iPhone 3G (it's a relic, I know), on which I have used every photography-related app I could find.  This week, I'm obsessed with a new app called Flixel.  This gem lets you create and share animated photos, much like those Cinemagraphs that Jamie Beck and her fiancé have mastered (basically, they're gifs).

In the crush of the morning commute yesterday, I managed to snap the arrival of the uptown 4 train.  It's my first Flixel "production," and mastering the app will take some time (in my opinion, the below moves too quickly), but I'm already fan.  Go to your app store and download it asap - it's free!

Happy Thursday!

Sam
