I know this is a fashion blog. But we've all got to eat, right? The favourite room in my apartment would have to be my kitchen, not only because it houses the gorgeous farm table S.A.S. made for me shortly after I moved in, but because I love to host dinner parties and cook up a storm for the people I love (note: I do this very rarely, but when I do, it is epic. Ask B). Below might not necessarily be a dish worthy of a dinner party, but it's a quick, easy and healthy meal.
What you'll need:
+ One bushel of Brussels sprouts (are they called bushels?)
+ Two to three strips of bacon (I used turkey bacon)
+ Five to 10 strawberries, depending on how much you want to sweeten the dish
+ Balsamic vinager
+ Halved walnuts (not pictured below, but a good addition)
1. Cut your strawberries into halves or quarters and marinate them in the balsamic vinegar. Set those puppies aside to soak.
2. Boil the Brussels sprouts until desired softness. At the same time, fry up your bacon until it's cooked to preference.
3. Throw it all in a pan and sauté for 5-7 minutes. If you want, add some of the leftover balsamic vinegar to the mixture. Throw in a handful of walnuts, too.
4. Enjoy!
Back to regularly our scheduled programming (fashion) tomorrow.
Cheers,
S
