Street Style: Central Park Chic, Part I

B and I decided to take a stroll through Central Park to test out my new Canon Digital SLR camera.  Along the way, we managed to snap a few shots of some very chic gals enjoying NYC's Indian summer!  While my photog. skills are still a work-in-progress (these high-tech cameras aren't as simple as "point-and-click"), I think we managed to capture the essence of style exuded by these ladies.  This is Part 1 of our first venture into NYC street style!  Stay tuned for more posts from the Central Park Chic edition!

Who: Jessica from Orange County, CA
What: Zebra-stripe sweater, Urban Outfitters
          Black over-the-knee boots, Dolce Vita
Why we love it: Jessica has hit some of fall's greatest trends in this look.  Black over-the-knee boots and black tights, paired with a chunky knit sweater (in animal print!), belted to accentuate her great figure is exactly what we've been seeing on the runways for fall. Behold, D&G Fall/Winter 2010:
Jessica has pulled together a runway-worthy look for a fraction of what the above would cost. And you can, too - just hit up your favourite wallet-friendly stores for inspiration.

Fun fact: Jessica's boyfriend, pictured right, mentioned that he dressed her that morning after we asked if we could snap her style.  If there's any truth to this claim, well done!  (Jess also mentioned that she didn't even venture out to buy this outfit, but rather bought it online - impressive!)

Thanks to Jessica for allowing us to photograph her!   Check back soon for Part II of Central Park Chic.

xo,
SM
