Friday produced some great looks that will be surefire hits come fall. Here is a roundup of our favourite looks from two designers shown on the second day of fashion week (2 on 2, get it?).
Jason Wu (previously given love by us here) put forward a dark, military-inspired collection mixing leather, fur and intricate embroidery and lace work. Particularly eye-catching were the two looks, below. The first, a structured pencil dress with a high neck and beautifully embroidered bodice (below left). The second, a cool, sophisticated blazer paired with a black skinny pant and black fur (we think mink).
Rag & Bone loaded on the layers for fall in an array of warm colours ranging from orange and red to brown and grey. They tried their hand at mixing prints, which can be dangerous, but the design duo made it work by keeping the colours low-key (see directly below right). And for the favourite: a beautiful floral brocade trench coat (which kind of looks it could adorn a vintage couch).
Keep watching for more roundups!
*Sigh* how we wish we were there.
