Welcome to the third and final edition of our Central Park Chic street style series! So far we have shown you two lovely ladies from the West Coast who donned stylish duds perfect for an autumn stroll. Today, we're bringing local back with a fellow New Yorker who calls Brooklyn her home.
Who: Valerie from Brooklyn, NY
What: Coat, Thrift
Boots, vintage Zodiak
Why we love it: Valerie's coat makes us think of capes, and not in the Superman or Count Dracula kind of way. Capes, ponchos, and coats with large, chunky collars have been seen all over the Fall/Winter 2010 runways:

And, lucky for us, these items are also popping up at our favourite look-for-less stores:

These unique takes on traditional outerwear are the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe! (And the camel colour is so hot right now.) (I had to.)
Fun fact: Valerie and her business partner, Georgia, are the proud founders of Walkabout Fabrics & Crafts, a new venture in which they create spray-dyed fabrics (made entirely outdoors using the natural materials mother nature has given us) and turn them into everything from sheets and pillowcases to clothes and handbags! Check out their website here and follow them on Twitter here.
Alas, this ends our Central Park Chic edition of New York street style. Fret not, dear friends, we will be back with more from the stylish men and women of New York.
Stay tuned!
xo,
SM
